This fall 1in9 added Ms. B to our caseload of patients; she had been diagnosed this past February. As a single mother, working full time, and taking care of her son, Ms. B received tremendous support from her friends; family and church, but after missing too much time from the office Ms. B lost her job. Faced with rising medical expenses associated with daily trips to UNC for radiation treatment, Ms. B finally needed to ask for help.
We had a chance to sit down with Ms. B and her father just before the Christmas holiday to see and hear how she was doing. The following video is a brief intro into the story of this very strong survivor.
