Our Plan to Help
Since 1in9 began, we’ve been committed to finding ways to ease some of the burdens that come along with a diagnosis of breast cancer. Dr. Keith Amos and Nurse Navigator Deborah Ballard work with cancer patients every day, we thought “who better to ask?”
Once we sat down, what an eye-opening discussion it was. We were able to learn so much about the barriers patients face every day…
This video is an explanation of the patients that 1in9 hopes to assist. Deborah mentions how some of the simplest things, such as thermometers and parking fees, can keep patients from receiving the proper care. Dr. Amos describes how 1in9 can help to fill a void in the lives of some very deserving women. Thanks for taking the time to watch it!

Thanks to Dr. Irvin, Dr.Amos, Dr. Halle, Noam VanderWalde, MD; Deborah, and other UNC Cancer team for all the support, interest, and guidance during my Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment. Oh, I’m on my 5 week of Radiation therapy. Thanks to University Inn at Chapel Hill for a great stay! I will join 1 in 9 organization for more support.
