Today I received one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. My “second” parents, Lynn & Butch Marquis, sent us a beautiful print by Brenda Harris Tustian that was created in support of Breast Cancer research. It is absolutely amazing!
If you look carefully at the picture, you will see the incredible Message of Hope. The Three Shooting Stars in the sky are to remind us of the time when we only “wished and dreamed” there was a cure. The medical symbols on the wreath, the “Race for the Cure” tennis shoes on the girl’s shoulder, and the twelve other symbols of cancer research organizations represent the joint effort of those committed to finding a cure.
There are three other stars featured – Santa is reaching for the one draped with a pink ribbon, and the little girls is catching the bright star for the children of the future. The angel is holding a star that represents our greatest goal ~ the day when we hold the cure in our hands and the Dream Has Come True!
The sunrise on the horizon reminds us to continue looking forward, and to believe that bright mornings are just ahead. The Bible is open to Psalm 23, reminding us that we are never alone. The distant stars are in honor of the numerous lives that have been touched by this disease.
The most important symbol… the pink heart on the package, is in honor of those that give from the heart to help others struggling with this disease.
My wish this Christmas is to wake up and find our prayers are answered and that the Dream HAS Come True!
Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you to Mama & Papa Butch~I love you…
